Edgerton Parent Group

Edgerton Parent Group fundraises to provide equipment, field trips, school enhancements that are not in the school budget. Some of our larger projects were playground equipment, construction of a track to allow our school to host track and field events, musical instruments, and musical bells. The last two years we have paid for field trips, furniture for the library, science equipment, microwaves, track & field equipment and many more.  With the restraint on budgets this organization is invaluable to provide the children with the extras that otherwise would not be available.  Annually they bring the Missoula Theatre to engage our children (all grades) in a theatre production;  they have two shows, a dinner theatre and matinee.  This years production will be in February.  Meetings for the parent group are held monthly, check the School Newsletters for dates.

EDUCATION

The Public School offers offers excellent educational services & facilities covering Kindergarten through Grade 12. EdgertonPublic School is one of twenty that come under the responsibility and direction of the Buffalo Trail Regional School Division.  Recent studies in education continue to testify the value of smaller class sizes and Edgerton is blessed to give students that extra personal attention and programming not always seen in larger centers.

Our school has recently received an update in technology, providing a full computer lab with internet capabilities.  Distance Education is available to students and Edgerton has a partnership with LakelandCollege in Vermilion for innovative programs of apprenticeship for automotive mechanics and welding.

Parental involvement in our school is encouraged and the school receives tremendous support from the community in terms of volunteers, fundraising, and participation in events and programs.  Students in grades 3, 6, 9, and 12 participate in provincial achievement exams with Edgerton students meeting and exceeding provincial standards.
